A Spring Wedding Full of Light and Laughter at Crondon Park
There’s something special about a March wedding — a hopeful time of year when spring is just starting to stretch its legs and the sun feels like it’s got your back again. That was exactly the vibe at Rich & Izzy’s wedding at Crondon Park in Essex. Sunny skies, a cool breeze, and a celebration packed with joy, style, and a few brilliant surprises.
As an Essex wedding videographer, I’ve filmed at Crondon Park many times, and it never disappoints. But this day had an extra sparkle — and not just from the Prosecco.
Bridal Prep Goals? Achieved.
We kicked off the day with bridal prep in a room that had absolutely glorious natural light — the kind that makes you want to high-five the sun. Izzy and her bridal crew were the perfect mix of calm and buzzing excitement. There were laughs, a few happy tears, and a cork or two flying across the room. These shots turned out to be some of my favourite bridal prep footage I’ve ever filmed — soft light, big smiles, and a calm that felt like the eye of the storm (in the best way).
Crondon Park Doing What It Does Best
Set in the beautiful Essex countryside, Crondon Park offers the dream combo of rustic charm and high-end polish. The Baronial Hall, with its grand oak beams and warm tones, is ideal for ceremonies that feel personal and intimate without losing a sense of occasion. Rich & Izzy said their vows in front of a full house of family and friends, and there was no shortage of emotion (or camera-friendly moments).

Outside, the rolling golf course views and tucked-away gardens gave us the perfect backdrop for couple shots later on. Crondon always delivers on scenery — but with a bit of spring sunshine? It really shines.
Singing Waiters? Yes Please.
Now, this was a fun twist. Just after the wedding breakfast, guests were treated to an unexpected performance from singing waiters — who went from serving roast beef to belting out classics and getting the whole room on their feet. Within minutes, napkins were waving, tables were dancing (okay, the people on them), and the entire vibe levelled up from “lovely day” to “epic party.” It was pure joy, and a dream to capture.
Couple Time and Cinematic Gold
Later in the afternoon, The photographer and I took Rich & Izzy for a gentle walk around the grounds. This is always a golden opportunity (sometimes literally) for capturing relaxed, romantic footage of the couple just being themselves. And with the gentle spring sunlight playing ball, we got some absolutely stunning shots — heartfelt, cinematic, and totally unforced.
Working with the Dream Team
One of the many highlights for me was getting to work alongside my mate and top Essex photographer, Gary Derbridge. We’ve teamed up on loads of weddings now, and when you’ve got that sort of easy rhythm between photo and video, it really helps the day flow naturally. No stepping on toes (unless we’re dancing at the end), just great teamwork and great results.
A Perfect Start to the Wedding Season
Rich & Izzy’s wedding had all the things I love about what I do — amazing people, beautiful light, real emotions, and a party that didn’t hold back. Massive congrats to the new Mr and Mrs, and thank you both for letting me be part of such a brilliant day.
