It was an absolute pleasure to capture Carl and Clare’s wedding at the stunning Apton Hall in Rochford, Essex. This venue is one of those hidden gems that has it all, a beautiful courtyard surrounded by converted barns, open countryside views and just the right balance of rustic charm and modern finish. The team at Apton Hall always make things run smoothly, and it was great to be back filming there on such a lovely late summer’s day.

THE FILMING DAY
The 28th of August 2025 brought mostly sunshine, with just one short rain shower as the groomsmen arrived, which quickly passed and left us with a beautiful bright day for the rest of the celebrations. Carl and Clare’s wedding was full of the best things, laughter, family, friends and plenty of love.
The morning started with excitement and a calm buzz in the air as everyone got ready. The bridal suite at Apton Hall has a great space with natural light, perfect for capturing all those moments as Clare and her bridesmaids prepared for the big day. Meanwhile, Carl and the groomsmen arrived looking sharp, enjoying a drink and a few laughs as they waited for the rain to clear.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion, surrounded by friends and family in the warm atmosphere Apton Hall creates so well. Once the vows were said, it was straight into celebration mode, with drinks in the courtyard and plenty of smiling faces. Guests enjoyed the relaxed space, children ran around playing games and the magician kept everyone entertained with close-up tricks that had people laughing and gasping in surprise.
Later in the afternoon, I headed out with the couple for their shoot. Working alongside my good friend and talented photographer, Gary Derbridge, we made the most of the venue’s surroundings. The gardens, barns and open fields gave us so much to work with, and as golden hour arrived the light was just perfect. We captured some incredible footage, full of warmth and connection between Carl and Clare.
As the evening rolled in, guests filled the dance floor for the couple’s first dance, a great way to finish what had been an amazing day from start to finish. The video tells the full story, from the laughter and small moments to the big emotions, a real reflection of what makes wedding days so special.
